Inversion

Mondays are always special for me. I like to get in an hour early to check out the new window displays, see what's been selling during the weekend, respond to emails etc. All while drinking a cup of coffee and listening to some of my favorite songs, charging my batteries for the week to come.

This morning a young woman entered at 10.30 and wanted to shop (I forgot to lock). I told her it was ok, as long as she didn't mind the lights being off and me sitting by the computer offering her little to no attention. She said it was fine, tried on a pair of jeans, loved them, bought them and left.

I am so grateful for customers that can take care of themselves and are low maintenance.

Especially on a Monday like this. Thankyouthankyouthankyougod.

Good day gone bad

I woke up this day in the best of moods. Had slept 9 hours, the sun was shining and Marley & I went for a loong walk in the fresh freezing air. Opened the store and lots of sweet and amicable customers shopped.

Now, some hours later, there's been another blizzard outside so the city feels abandoned and is covered in snow. Marley is laying here by my feet, still completely knocked out by the walk, not providing me any kind of entertainment. And me, I feel sick to my stomach and am barely able to greet the customers. Sucks! Let's make this day what it once was - GREAT. I'm playing one of my favorite songs on high volume and then I'll be closing early folks. See you tomorrow, and remember to always take care of yourselves!

Call me crazy..

.. but this Russian lady came in with her 1½ year old son today and she was breast-feeding him like there was no tomorrow. The boy had hair down to his shoulders (think Messi), teeth like a little vampire and could both talk and run around. Still, she carried him like a baby with while he sucked on her.. Is it just me or is that just plain WRONG? Ugh.. I was grossed out.

Update on the pizzas

My dearest boots, I've come to realise that this might just be their last winter. They're starting to smell (eeww) and the plastic has started to crack.. I swear to God, I'll cry a river the day they fall apart and I'll be forced to carefully place them in the dumpster. I've never ever everrrr worn anything to the point that I had to throw'em. Grown out of clothes and shoes -of course- but never worn them out by usage (I sold my  blue Chuck's, so they don't count). Never have I worn a pair of shoes as frequently as I have with these. My lifesavers all through my last three years. It breaks my heart to know they won't be around forever. 

If you ever see a pair of boots like these, HOLLA AT YO GIRL!!!!

Animal

Today I'm wearing an 80's tiger-striped dress that I've had my eyes on for a while. It was on sale here at Emma Loca, and since no one appreciated its value to 150 kr, I TOOK IT!! Not sure if it's flattering but I love my animal print so who cares?

I tried to show off my brown feather earring, but it kinda blended right in with my hair.. you get a good look of my red lipstick though!

I liked this pic. Don't know why really. (ok. who am i kidding. i know why. it's because i look so natural, like i just woke up with red lips and rosy cheeks. when in fact i spent 20 minutes this morning doing my au naturelle make up. haha.)

Friday lunch special

Last Friday I had the best day. I was off from work, walked around town in the worst blizzard of the year. Shopped a few things for my birthday party. Then bought a bottle of Prosecco and went to my second home Cafe Dello Sport to congratulate them on the launch of their pizza branch.

I had two slices of pure deliciousness (patata/pomodoro/parmiggiano & spinach/ricotta - Mmmm..) and then we all toasted, in hope of great success.

If you live in Stockholm I highly recommend a visit. Daytime for their italian pastry and coffee, and after work to try the pizza. You wont regret it!

Birthday Girl

This is how I looked the day before yesterday, which also was my 25th birthday. I felt like a dancing cup cake.

Look of the day

Today it snowed again so I had to wear a sweater. I love this one because it keeps me warm while still saying  "I'm a dog so back off" (yah it's a dog bone on the back - pretty bad ass huh). I love it so much I even have it in other colors. My auntie Marie says that it shows off my tiny waist. I don't know about that, but I do get lots of attention from bitches in this outfit, that's for sure!
I just had to do the head over shoulder pose. That's the one the celebreties always give the photographers on the red carpet. Lookin' fierce!

The only reason I hate sunny days

Needless to say, I ended my contract with the cleaning company today. I've seen cleaner windows in anbandoned houses.

The story of a day that started in April but ended in February

The other day I went against all of my 'polished-look' principles, but my hair looked pretty nice anyways.

I wore this lovely black-and-colored-dots dress (from H&M Divided)

The sun was shining and spring was in the air.

Even Marley was soaking up the sun. Love him.

Then. Snow.

Report from the day before today

Yesterday was such a lovely day, on all accounts.

Had great customers giving me lots of positive vibes. Had my dear friend Irene over for lunch, always a pleasure. Then my 10 year old buddy Sharmie hanged out with me for a while, playing with Marley and telling me about the boys in her class. I'm great at giving love advice, by the way. At least while the persons involved are still in elementary school...

Then my sister stopped by with her new boyfriend. Not new as in like 'she changes every week' more as 'only been going out for a while and i haven't met him before'. Just so you don't get the wrong impression of her. This man has been carefully selected.
And now he has my sign of approval.

I also had the best hairday, but it didn't photograph well. You'll have to take my word on it!

Fresh start

Today a friend, from back in the days when I was a computer nerd and spent every waken hour on mIRC, stopped by to fix my laptop. As he never outgrew his nerdyness he is now some kind of boss at the IT section at one of Scandinavias largest banks.

I bet it's better paid than running a shop. Hrmm.. That could've been me working as some big shot computer hacker super boss.

Well.. No, not really. He has skills and I don't - which is why he fixed it and I didn't. It took him like 15 minutes.
My lovely little pink Asus is back to being as good as new. Yay!

Also got a surprise visit from my friend Frida today. She enjoyed Marleys company more than mine, as you can tell. Still love her though. Any friend of Marley's is a friend of mine!

Bad hair days - be gone!

This NYE I made a promise to try and make that extra effort to always have flawless hair. Well, that said, I haven't really managed to keep that promise, but I'm getting better! This is my new 'do I pull off when I wake up and my hair just has one of those days when it won't cooperate. It looks more polished than my standard high bun, which is what I'm aiming for. A polished look.



I roll hair on each side, use tons of spray and bobby pins - et voilá!
